If you haven’t read Talk Like TED yet…add it to your list. It is an excellent read for anyone who wants to review, reflect and improve their public speaking skills. “You can’t inspire anyone else unless you’re truly inspired yourself.” Carmine dedicates a whole chapter in his book to passion.
What makes my heart sing? My family. Growing up I’ve always been close to my brothers and my parents. They have taught me so much, and they have given me the best life. We are one no matter what we do. We live almost 4000 miles apart but we are still one. Without their support and love I wouldn’t be here today. As I’m growing older my passion is still my family, however, I’m passionate about the family I’m about to start with my husband. We all have to make sacrifices but without the support from your family it’s impossible. I will do anything to ensure that my family has the best future possible.
After reading and taking in Gallo’s words, it truly set in for me that passion can be the secret to finding where you want to be and who you want to be. When those points meet, that is where you find true inspiration and happiness. You might tell yourself that your content and that you’re doing what you want. But the truth is, a lot of hearts are silent. Once you take that mask off and open up to your internal inspiration you’ll slowly hear your heart sing.
I’m at the beginning of that journey right now. And hopefully throughout this blog you will see that unfold for me.
